Sour Gas Stripper Systems
Reliable Solutions for H₂S & NH₃ Removal
In refinery operations, sour water — wastewater containing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and ammonia (NH₃) — must be treated before it can be reused or safely discharged. If left untreated, these contaminants can cause corrosion, foul equipment, and create safety and environmental hazards.
CG Thermal designs and delivers turnkey sour gas stripper systems that efficiently remove H₂S and NH₃, helping your plant:
Improve water reuse and reduce fresh water demand
Protect downstream equipment from corrosion and fouling
Meet strict environmental and safety standards
How Our Systems Work
Our engineered stripper systems use proven heat integration and separation principles to maximize efficiency and reliability:
- Feed Preparation – Sour water is first routed through a flash drum to remove light hydrocarbons.
- Heat Recovery – The feed is preheated via an interchanger using recovered heat from the column bottoms.
- Stripping Process – The heated stream enters the stripper column. Steam from the reboiler drives off H₂S and NH₃, leaving behind clean, reusable water.
- Cooling & Handling – Stripped water is cooled for reuse, and the separated gases are sent to the sulfur recovery unit for safe processing.
How We Can Help
Existing Systems – We offer troubleshooting, performance optimization, and retrofit solutions to improve capacity, efficiency, and reliability.
New Installations – We provide complete turnkey packages, full engineering design documentation, or individual major equipment supply — tailored to your plant’s specifications and process conditions.
Whether you need a full system, a critical equipment package, or expert guidance to improve what you have, CG Thermal delivers solutions that work for the long haul.
